It was a busy weekend, again, here for the Tettambels. Our beautifully perfect little lady turned 6 months on Friday, and with that we made a trip to see Dr. Bernal. Our girl measured in at 28 inches (90th percentile) and 16 pounds 3 ounces (50-75th percentile). As it turns out Ava
may have a minor case of the reflux, so we are putting a spin on her formula these days. (I say
may because she always has a bad case of the spit ups, but it never seems to bother her in the slightest!) Instead of straight Similar Easy Sheild, Ava is now enjoying 1/3 Similar RS. This Similac is still milk based, but has added rice starch to help cut some acid and create weight to keep the spit ups down! Keep your fingers crossed it works! Miss Ava is also ahead of the average in her cognitive and developmental milestones. She can sit up all by herself, make all (and more) sounds that that are expected of her age, she rolls across the room and crawls backwards. (Not forward yet, thank goodness. She can stay a baby as long as she wants, as soon as she is mobile, I will really feel like she is getting too big too fast. Cliche, I know, but what can I say, it's true!)
Speaking of crawling backwards and rolling.... we took Ava for her 6 month pictures today. Needless to say she was not overly amused with her photographer who was making all sorts of funny sounds and noises to her. She actually often looked at her like "why in the world are you talking to me in that voice?!". Jeff and I love her already dry and subtle humor!
Here are our favorite shots of her from today, and like I said, she was more focused on showing us all her new "tricks" than sitting still for the camera.
Happy 1/2 Birthday Ava. We love you so.
