Ava, Dan & Kristen

Just before Ava turned six months (May 9 & 10th to be exact!) she finally got to meet some of Jeff's side of the family! We were so excited that Dan and Kristen decided to visit with us for a night in Charlotte. Kristen's brother recently graduated from Furman University in South Carolina, so they came in for a long weekend from Chicago. We were so glad to get to spend time with you guys, and hope that you come back again soon! We also hope that after your visit, Charlotte has moved up in your "short list"!!!

On Sunday night, just after our guests arrived, we went out to our favorite Mexican spot, Cantina. Unfortunately, this was the VERY first time, that Ava had no interest in being at the restaurant with us. I actually think this may have been my fault, typically we would just carry Ava in, in her infant car seat carrier, prop her up in a sling, and have her sit at the table with us. This time, I tried something different. I tried to put Ava in a "big girl" high chair for the first time, and she got upset. And stayed upset, unless we held her. Basically, long story short, she is entitled to this one little "diva" moment because the previous 6 months and regular trips out, she has been perfect! We certainly gave Dan and Kristen a "fun" taste of babies and suburbs!
