This past weekend was pretty relaxing. Friday night was our first Friday night at home with no company since our little muffin's arrival! We literally had nothing to do. And nothing we could've done, since our pediatrician has recommended not taking Ava out to many public/crowded places, with this being flu season and with the H1N1 still being around! So, it was a nice quiet evening at home. On, Saturday we had some friends over from Jeff's work. Guacci & Lisa, and Rich & Krista came over to meet Ava and to watch the Florida v. Alabama game. (Having a new baby is so much fun because friends are more willing to come over to our house to visit because everyone wants to meet her!) Guacci and Rich were eager to hear about what Jeff's responsibilities with Ava are... well up until then he hadn't had too many! So, on Ava's 3 week birthday, after G & R gave Jeff a hard time for several hours, Daddy changed his first diaper!!! His first diaper change wasn't all too bad either, we only had one mishap and it involved Ava's sock getting dirty! This was a big step in parenting for Jeff... and I was truly shocked when he said he would do it. (Even though he hasn't changed another one since, we are working on changing that!) Well, long story short, Guacci and Rich made more progress in getting Jeff to help out in one night than I had in three weeks of trying, so moving forward, co-workers are always welcome to come over!!!
Oh and a little explanation on Ava's latest nickname, Muffin. Jeff started calling her this after he watched one of The Office reruns where Dwight calls Angela "Muffin" and he thought it would be cute for Ava. Stay tuned and we'll see how long it lasts! :)
