Jeff and I celebrated perhaps the best Thanksgiving we've had together yet! Not only because Miss Avakins and Grandma T were here to celebrate with us, but because it was nothing but relaxing. This was exactly the holiday we were looking for! Jeff enjoyed football all day, I got to nap and Grandma T got lots of quality Ava-Time! It was actually probably our healthiest Thanksgiving yet too! Since there were only 3 "eaters" here, we only made one snack (delicious Rotel & Cheese dip... yum!) and then made a traditional Thanksgiving meal just on a small serving size scale! Turkey, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, stuffing and cranberry jello - delicious.
So, you may or may not have noticed that I've been referring to Ava as our little cupcake. She got this nickname back in July when my dear friend Christine and I rendezvous-ed at one of my favorite DC eateries, Georgetown Cupcake. They had the cutest little onesies there that inspired her nickname.... but lately I've been calling Ava a variety of poultry names. Chicken, chickie, chicken noodle, chicken little. She seems to like "Chicken" the best.
Our house is officially Christmas Ready. We have all of our decorations up, inside and out, and our living room is just a happy happy place to be right now! We have a fully decorated 10 foot Christmas tree, gorgeous! We went to pick out our tree the morning after Thanksgiving, just as we did last year, and it was a quick and fun trip. This has been the start to a wonderful holiday season and it all started with turkey and a little chicken!

Now only if this blog let me "tag" people like the facebook, I would have to tag Miss Chloe since she gave Ava this precious flower headband! It's still a tad big on her, she always seems to lean towards whichever side the flower is sitting on, but on another note, aren't her big blue eyes just beautiful??!!?? (We're waiting to see if they change to brown like Jeff's eyes!)
