She. Is. Perfect.

Well our little cupcake has made her way into the world! :) We arrived at Charlotte Presbyterian Hospital around 8:30 am, on Jeff's birthday, got settled into our delivery room and the IV began just after 10 am. This labor process was something of a "family affair" as everyone started arriving in the delivery room around noon. At 1 pm Dr. Clarke checked our "progress" and we were at 4 cm, so she decided to go ahead and break my water. Then the football games started. Ava timed her arrival perfectly, because Daddy did not miss a second of the N.C. State game! At 4:15 our nurse, Janice, checked our "progress" again, and sure enough we were 10 cm dilated and Ava was making her way out with or without the help of nurses and/or Dr. Clarke. (Thank goodness for the miracle that is an epidural, I had no idea other than watching the contractions on a monitor that things had progressed so far!) Janice, called in her reinforcements and asked me not to push until Dr. Clarke got in the room, once she got there 20 minutes of pushing later we had Ava, and she. is. perfect.

We were so glad that they gave her a hat with a bow, we needed to make sure everyone knew she is all girl!!!

First family picture! Happy Birthday Daddy!

She made this way too easy for me!

First picture in her hospital bassinet.

Ava was the longest baby born at the hospital this weekend. 21.5 " long!!!

This is my last preggo shot!
