Another fun weekend for the books! On Saturday morning we woke up and went to "Racefest" Charlotte. Our good neighborhood friend, Missy, was running her first half marathon since welcoming her son, Wes, in August of this year. I know, let's take a moment to give her much deserved "kudos" for that - half marathon with a seven month old! Not to mention, she started training in December, when Wes was just over three months old! What an inspiration! The children were all so cute, the streets were blocked for runners, but near the finish line was an unused portion of road where children could run along with their parents to the end. It would've appeared that Missy had 3 children exactly the same age, because Sam (her son), Lucas and Ava all ran the final uphill leg of the race with her. (Video to follow - Alex took the footage, we are just waiting on him to send it our way!) We had such a great time, early Saturday morning with great friends. Way to go Missy! Not to mention, the after race, tailgate style celebration in the Dillard's parking lot was also a lot of fun!
Below you will also see some pictures from Friday afternoon, Ava and "the guys" enjoyed the beautiful sunshine in the backyard - couldn't get Ava to stop fiddling with her shoe though. Turned out, she had some mulch stuck inside!!!
