This Independence Day we continued a two year tradition (and hopefully many many many more to come) of joining our great friends (and Ava's Godfather) the Suttons, Bentley, The Furlongs (and soon to be Mrs. Furlong), Becky and Steve-O & Annie! Hands down, we look forward to this weekend, more than all other weekends of the summer (and perhaps year)! We spend three days at Lake Keowee, on the water, listening to music, telling jokes, eating "Jersey Shore" style meals and basically just relaxing in the sunshine! Ava is the first baby to join the ranks, and she had a fabulous time! Uncle Matt and Aunt Caroline were super thoughtful to bring a Baby & Me style float so that Ava could enjoy the water with an adult attached! You will see in the pictures below Uncle Ben tried to float with our girl, until she took a swing at him!!! Aunt Becky spoils Ava rotten, her 4th of July tutu is just one of the many ways she is making Ava into the Princess of the Carolinas! This year Ava wasn't the only thing we were celebrating, as our good friends Mark and Stephanie recently got engaged! One of the funniest moments was when they swam from one boat to the other, and when they got there, Stephanie lifted her left hand proudly, to let everyone know her ring made the swim! It may have been one of those "gotta be there" moments, but you catch my drift! The lake is surrounded by gorgeous mountains and golf courses, if you can't tell from this paragraph, we love this trip!!
