There's always something that throws off your "perfect" day. Katie's hiccup came at the Red Dorr Salon in Fair Lakes. We arrived around 9 am for our appointments for hair, make up, etc. all was going well, we had our morning Starbucks and pastries in hand, until about 10:00 am. That's when the power went out. We waited around a few minutes, but the electric company said that the power was out for a 2 mile radius and it wouldn't be restored until around 2 pm. Well, we were suppose to be done at 11:15 am for our pictures to start at 1:30... so waiting until 2 pm was not exactly an option!
No worries, the Red Door Salon to the rescue. We were "rerouted" to the Red Door in Reston, so we jumped in our cars, half ready, and made the 30 minute drive to Reston. This salon kindly made arrangements to fit us in, knowing that we had a wedding we needed to get to, and 2 stylists from Fair Lakes cancelled the rest of their appointments that day and came along to help! Although we ran a little behind schedule, all was well in the end and everyone looked great.
