Late in the evening on Monday the 7th, I began to experience very irregular contractions. Throughout the course of the night, in between attempts at sleep, my contractions grew both stronger and closer together. Earlier in the day on Monday, we had our "check up" with our OB Dr. Clarke - and we knew that she was going to be at the hospital the next day on call. She had checked on our "movement" and said that she thought the baby was coming soon. I was already dilated with contractions and effacement (sorry if this is TMI for anyone). We waited until early morning to call the hospital (and Miss Bobbi) and at around 6:00 am my contractions were 5 minutes apart and the hospital said "come on in. We called Miss Bobbi, who we had told late on Monday that there was a good chance we were going to the hospital the next day; and she came over to our house by 6:30. Seriously, I don't know what we would do without her on a day to day basis, but especially last Tuesday!
We checked into the hospital and although I had not dilated any further, my contractions were close enough together to get this show on the road! Within an hour of getting checked in; my contractions were about 3 minutes apart. Petocin was started around 11:15 am and the sweet baby girl, whom we have been waiting to meet, made her debut at 1:51 pm. (I will spare everyone the details of how my epidural wore off at around 1:10 pm therefore, I had the pleasure of experiencing end of the process contractions up until it was time to push. Although, that was the simplest part of the day - one push and she was out!)
On May 8th, 2012 at 1:51 pm our family grew by 20 inches and 6 pounds 6 ounces. Emma Reagan Tettambel made her debut 1 week early and we couldn't be happier.
Please enjoy the pictures below from our time in the hospital to our first few days home. (They uploaded in no particular order but you'll get the idea!)

Sooo cute
ReplyDeleteSo adorable! Love all the pictures and so happy that everyone is happy and healthy!! You look awesome and- for the record, I adore you with the darker hair :) Can't wait to meet Emma! Welcome to family baby girl!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jordan and Claire! Thanks for the darker hair compliment, too - I was on the fence about it, but than realized it's going to be much harder to find a regular "highlighting" routine with two little ladies to be looking after! We will definitely be up this summer for some meet and greets with everyone! xxxoo
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Jennifer, Jeff and Ava! I can't wait to meet Emma.
ReplyDeleteHopefully we will be up soon, Emma can't wait to meet you, too!
