This Labor Day weekend was an extra extra special one, not only because Ava finally got to meet her loving family members in the mid-west, but also because we got to celebrate a major milestone of love and commitment; Grandma and Grandpa T's 60th wedding anniversary. Every aspect of this weekend was surrounded by love and cherished memories that we are so glad to have been a part of.
At our wedding, we had an "anniversary" dance. All married couples danced to Kenny Chesney's "Don't Blink" with the newest married couples leaving the dance floor one by one, until the couple who had been married the longest was still standing. Grandma & Grandpa T were in a tight race with Mom mom & Pop pop for who had been married the longest, and they just barely won; they had been married 3 years longer, to the week.
Sunday - Mom mom & Pop pop Celebrated 57 Years of Marriage
Tuesday - Grandma & Grandpa T Celebrated 60 Years of Marriage
Here are the pictures we took from our trip, and we just want to wish our grandparents very happy anniversaries and many many more years of Married Goodness.
These pictures are from the lovely dinner that Grandma and Grandpa hosted at Old Warson Country Club in St. Louis - to say it was fabulous is an understatement.
Here are pictures from Day 2, Sunday, at a near by park. Ava rode the swings for the first time and went down the slide for the first time held by her cousin Ben. We followed up our morning and lunch in the park with a fantastic surprise trolly ride around St. Louis; but this was no ordinary trolly ride, all the stops were significant landmarks of the marriage we were celebrating! We had a blast!!
