We had so much to be thankful for this past holiday season. Not only do we have a perfect and beautiful daughter, but we have the best family and friends. We got to do a little bit of traveling in order for us to celebrate, but our biggest trip was unfortunately cancelled due to the blizzard that just HAD to happen during the weekend of Aunt Christine's Christmas party... boo. We did make it to Asheville for Christmas and then Ava and I made our way up to NOVA to see the rest of our family!!!
Jordan is so great with Ava, she just loves being the big cousin!
Ava got to meet her Great Pop Pop who made the trip to meet our girl all the way from the Jersey Shore! :
Ava met her cousin Claire who also missed Aunt Christine's party because her flight home from London (after 4 months of studying abroad) was cancelled! Claire also made our girl famous by sharing Ava's pictures with her flat mates in the UK!
Anne Marie also made the drive over from Damascus to meet our girl!
Here's Great Aunt Eileen with our sleepyhead!!! We owe Great Aunt Eileen an extra special thank you for sending us Babies R Us coupons, we have learned that these are invaluable and we can never have enough!
Great Uncle Vince has the magic touch, having raised four girls of his own, he was able to put Ava right to sleep!
Here's Grandpa M with his girl, Grandpa braved the bad NOVA weather to pick us up and drop us off at the airport!
This is one of my favorite pictures, only because it literally (NO JOKE) took at least 7 pictures to finally get one of Caroline with her eyes open!!! She instinctively closes her eyes whenever a camera is in front of her!
Great Aunt Celeste, who kindly drove the PA/NJ family members to NOVA to meet Ava, also had the magic touch, as Ava was being a bit of a fussy face, and all she had to do was slip her around and hold her by the stomach to calm her down! (Stephen had the same preference, of being held this way, when he was an infant!)
Allison beat me to the punch, she posted her pictures on facebook before I got a chance to update my blog!
Great Mom Mom made sure that she was the first one who got to hold Ava when they arrived after their four hour drive!
Aunt Kim has LOTS Of experience with getting a baby to go to bed! She rocks Mason to sleep every night, and while we were in Asheville she loved doing the same with Ava!
Mason loved one of Ava's Infantino toys, here's Uncle Mike (Ron) helping him push all the buttons on Christmas morning! :)
Grandma T took the first round of Ava duty on Christmas morning! She held our little cupcake so that mommy could take pictures, and daddy could make a video with his super fancy new video camera! (Which turned out to the gift of choice for us this year as new parents, we got 3!)
Mason just cracks me up! He ALWAYS pulls his socks off! I don't think he kept them on his feet for longer than about 30 minutes the whole weekend in Asheville!
Here's Ava at home with Daddy. She loves tummy time on Daddy's chest! (And she loves picking her head up to look right at you!)
You can't tell by this picture but Ava was really captivated by our Christmas Tree. It was right next to her swing, and we didn't even have to turn the swing on. We could just put her in her seat and she would stare at the lights on the tree forever!

This picture is totally out of order, but here's our girl all tuckered out after her first Christmas morning! :) Aren't those reindeer footies just adorable?
